Bruce Robinson Attorney at Law

Aggressive Representation Since 1969

Do you handle other types of cases besides those listed in your Practice Areas section?

I litigate many other types of cases including land line or boundary line disputes, disputes with contractors, home owner disputes, disputes involving a home owners association or a planned unit development, commercial litigation involving litigation with the bank or insurance company, litigation against insurance companies for failure to pay claims (I do not represent any insurance company nor do I represent any bank or other financial institution), defamation of character or slander if it involves a serious loss of reputation, invasion of privacy, unfair trade practices involving amounts in excess of ten thousand dollars, fraud, breach of contract, violations of civil rights in unlawful arrests or depravation of liberty cases, and other types of civil litigation.

Would you consider handling a criminal case?

Because of my extensive background in criminal law, I would also entertain representing someone charged with a serious felony such as murder, provided I was convinced the person was innocent and needed a competent attorney to represent them in the case. I do not accept other kinds of criminal cases such as DWI, drug cases, etc. I am not on the court appointed list for criminal work. I would not accept a murder case with a person who simply wished to plead guilty. I would only be interested if the case involved a complicated factual situation and the person was being unjustly charged with a crime and the case was proceeding to trial. Criminal cases such as this require a large retainer as a general rule; in order to properly represent someone there must be an extensive preparation done prior to trial.

Where will you travel?

Although I have taken an occasional case in Raleigh or Charlotte because the case was sizeable, I don't generally take cases outside of New Hanover, Brunswick or Pender County. The reason for this is because I wish to concentrate my practice locally in southeastern North Carolina. I want to be available to this area simply because I believe if one spreads himself too thin, he cannot be very effective. Having practiced for so many years in this area, I am very familiar with the local system, the judges, and the government agencies. I can put this experience to good use on behalf of my clients.

How can I get in touch with you?

You may call me at any time to discuss your case. Or, if you prefer, you may email me, setting forth your case and I will respond. I return all telephone calls within a 24 hour period. All emails will be answered within a 48 hour period.
